Didn’t think it possible to find somewhere so totally relaxing. The views are amazing, and the slight afternoon breeze in the mountains is most welcome. The pool ix wonderfully clean and just the right temperature.
For anyone with children (our girls are 15 + 13 year old), I recommend Terra Mitica. We went at 6 p.m. for the evening – the best decision ever! Lovely and quiet, no queues, no heat of the day. All the rides were open and with no queueing, we did the whole park by 10 p.m. when rides stop. At10.15 p.m. there was a fabulous show on Cleopatra, then at 11 p.m., a firework and water / light show to end the evening.
We also had great days at Aqualand and Fonts d’Algar. The latter is beautiful – waterfalls where you can bathe and relax.
Some great beaches – El Arenal is sandy and near. ~We also went to Cala Barraca ( good for snorkelling) and Granadella where we went on a 3 hour sea kayak tour with swimming/snorkelling in some caves. Highly recommended if you have older children + the energy! Ate at a couple of places – “The Office” at El Arenal is good for pizzas – you can watch them make the pizzas and service and food was excellent. We also ate in the alleyways/squares of the Old Town ( plenty of tapas restaurants – all good and nice to be in the old part).
The Port is also good to visit and watch the sea boats with ice creams – they also have an inflatable assault course which the kids loved.
All in all a fabulous holiday – plenty to do around the area, and yet the afternoons with the views totally relaxes you.
We will return and highly recommend it.
P.S. Thank you for the starter pack / food basics. Most appreciated. Brother-in-law works for Warburtons and we let him know there was a Warburton loaf awaiting us even in Spain!!
