About Javea
Javea has two distinct areas: the Port and the Pueblo or 'old town'. The population of circa 30,000 is spread out over a large area; it takes half an hour to drive from the northern side (where we are located) to the other at Cabo de La Nao, which is to the South of us.
Javea is a small town with a big reputation. It has been described recently by a British newspaper as "The jewel in the Costa Blanca" and by the World Health Organisation as having a climate "almost environmentally perfect". Statistically, we are a little cooler in Summer and warmer in Winter than the Costa del Sol .... for which we are very grateful!
Various parts of Spain experience water shortages - some areas have permanent all-year-round water restrictions. Javea has just installed a water desalination plant to prepare for any possible shortage.
Javea boasts an excellent Golf Club with a 9-hole course - it is very busy so book well in advance, bringing your handicap card, of course. It's a 10-minute drive from our villa. There is another course in La Sella, Javea, and two more courses less than an hour's drive away.
There are said to be more than 500 restaurants in Javea! No need to cook! There are plenty of restaurants where one may eat for £6 for a 3-course meal including wine!
We have put together a selection of our photos and hope you enjoy viewing them. We will be adding new photos over time and welcome your comments.
